The NASCAR Cup Series is the top level of stock car racing in the United States. It features the most experienced drivers and best-funded teams, with a schedule of about 36 races across a variety of tracks, including superspeedways, road courses, and short tracks. The season ends with a playoff format involving 16 drivers, culminating in a four-driver championship race. Iconic events like the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600 are part of the Cup calendar, and the series is known for its intense competition and large fan base.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series serves as the second tier and is often seen as a proving ground for young or up-and-coming drivers. It runs a slightly shorter season – about 33 races – and also features a playoff system, with 12 drivers competing for the title in the final seven events. While many races feature rising talents, some Cup Series drivers also compete in Xfinity races, adding to the challenge and excitement. The series plays a key role in developing future stars of NASCAR.
